One question I hear most from new nostriches is “how… setup/where do I get/how do I link/etc. lightning wallet?”
1st thing new nostriches…
YOU DO NOT NEED A SELF-CUSTODY LIGHTNING WALLET. Yes, running a lightning node and non-custodial would be awesome, BUT that is not for the faint of heart and requires you to dedicate at least a million sats usually to maintain channels and time.

2nd don’t worry about a custodial wallet for nostr zaps, you most likely will never have more a lot of sats on it at one time, just get a Strike wallet, or a Speed wallet… Wallet of Satoshi if you are not in the US… those all are fast and easy and unless they have changed anything since I created them, all you need is an email unless you want to buy sats. Once you have the wallet, just put your lightning address where every the app you are using requires it… sometimes in the profile edit, sometimes in settings, either way it’s easy and you can get zapped. The ability to use the wallet to zap with may be different depending on the app you are using it from, but asknostr if you can’t figure it out. Bingo now you have lightning set up on nostr.

Excited for next weekend, my friend and I are going for a day together hike for the first time in about 12 years. The last time we went hiking together was a 3 day hike around Grand Island off shore of Pictured Rocks in Lake Superior and although this will not be as scenic, it’ll be awesome. We’ll time to get a new work #watchstr, this one gave out… I wish I could just replace the spring bar, but that is the downside to the molded poly lugs… the spring bar will rip a channel through them if the band gets pulled too hard… this watch has honestly lasted longer than I figured it would with the bezel ripped off already… time to get a new watch to abuse at the mines. #grownostr

If you are in central or western mitten of Michigan with small kids, you really should take them to Anderson & Girls sometime for a free zoo that runs on donations and sales from their store and food barn… camels, kangaroos, exotic birds, penguins, and a lot more.
